New Ways To Wear A Necklace

2fers and layering were very popular this winter. Since it's currently nice and warm outside, there really is no reason to layer right now (although wearing tank tops or vests over short-sleeved shirts is still a very cool look). I've recently spotted a new trend that seems to be Summer's answer to the 2fer: necklace tops. These are tops that either come with necklaces or have the necklaces attached to them. There are also necklace halters which have necklaces that go around the neck instead of the usual strings you would tie around your neck. Necklace dresses are in style too. For the tops that come with necklaces that can be unattached, you can remove the necklace and wear it with a different top. You can also try attaching a different necklace to the top. Also, don't be afraid to pair other accessories with your necklace top or dress. Try adding some bangle bracelets (article on bangles coming soon), hoop or chandelier earrings, some rings, and a flower or feather hair accessory for a fun Summer look. Trendy Tribes

Summer is now officially here! One of the hottest trends for this Summer is tribal prints; tribal prints are either ethnic-inspired or nature-inspired patterns. As I've mentioned in my blog post about polka dots, bold patterns are very much in style this year. Try matching a nude colored dress, tunic, or skirt up with a pair of black leggings or tights. A natural toned top would look great paired with some colored jeans. Nude pants or skirts would look good paired with a shirt that has a fun print like polka dots, sublimation, ect. Pair some nude shoes with either a dress with a fun print or colored jeans. Carry a natural hued bag on the beach with a printed swimsuit. Wear a nude colored jacket or vest over a neon top. Pair one of the natural colored straw hats with a plaid shirt, some ripped jeans, and a braided belt for a western-inspired look; also, be sure to have fun with your make-up. Try some blue eyeshadow, red lips, purple nail polish, ect. Try mixing and matching some of my ideas, or even better come up with some of your own! Like I stated before, you really can't go wrong with this hue. The only thing I would suggest not doing is wearing a nude color from head to toe. All Bleached Out

I previously wrote an article about ripped denim. This post is going to be about another one of this Spring's denim trends. Bleached denim! So if you have a pair of jeans that are bleached out from being washed too many times, don't throw them away yet because they are totally in style this season. If you want to bleach your own denim, grab a pair of jeans that you wish to do this with, and some thick bleach. Then soak your jeans in water and spread the bleach in the areas you want to appear faded. Throw them into the washing machine after doing this. If you have sensitive skin like I do, make sure to wear gloves during this entire process. You may also try this DIY project on jean shorts or a denim skirt. If you don't feel like bleaching your own denim, there are plenty of pre-bleached jeans you can wear. I will post some pre-bleached denim below.

Light As A Feather

My last blog post was about flower accessories. This article is going to be about accessories as well; only this time, it's about feather accessories. The feather accessories I will be featuring include headbands with feathers attached, feather hair clips, and feather jewelry. For the flapper girl look, wear your feather headband with a fringe dress, a pearl necklace, a sequin handbag, and a pair of pumps. For a DIY project, grab a plain headband and a feather and glue the feather onto the headband. You can also get a few small feathers and glue them all around the headband. You may also add some rhinestones, studs, jewels, a bow, or a flower onto the headband with the feather(s) if you desire.

For a hippie-chic look, wear your feather hair clip with a pair of destroyed jeans, a peasant top or tie dyed shirt, and some flip flops. If you're going for a victorian style, wear your feather clip with a ruffled silk top, a lace skirt, some pumps, and a fringe purse. To rock a feather printed dress, pair it with some gladiator sandals and bangle bracelets. If you're sporting a feather printed top, wear it with some distressed capris and sneakers.
