Keep Cool In Coral

In my last blog post, I wrote about how blue was a major color trend for the Summer of 2009. Well, coral is also a hot color this Summer. Coral can vary in shades of orange, pink, and red. It is a great Summer color since it is reminiscent of the sunset and radiates a feeling of warmth. One hot look on the runways and in fashion magazines has been mixing coral with shades of blue (particularly turquoise and teal). This actually looks very good and is a great way to combine both of this season's trendy colors. Take a look at some of my cute coral finds below.

As I stated before, pairing coral with shades of blue is a very popular look this season. My recomendation would be denim, of course, since denim goes with almost anything. Since it's Summer, I would suggest pairing a coral top with denim shorts or a denim mini-skirt. You can also wear a coral top with jeans on a cooler day. A coral jacket would also be nice with a pair of jeans. Grab a pair of faux denim leggings to wear with a coral dress or coral tunic (a look that's going to be very much in style for the Fall). Wear a pair of coral shorts with a denim vest. A coral skirt would look great paired with a denim jacket. Coral accessories such as jewelry, shoes, handbags, etc. can also be matched with denim or other variants of blue like teal or turquoise. If you're really feeling brave, try matching coral with other shades of orange, pink, or red; such as peach, salmon, fuschia, etc. If you would like to see me write an article about any other trendy colors, e-mail me at Charmed42787@gmail.com or contact me on myspace.

I LOVE that second dress from Alloy.com. I've been eyeing it for a couple weeks now, but I have to wait to buy it. I hope they don't sell out:/

Personally coral isn't really my color, or my style, but these are really pretty!!! :D

Hey, what sort of style do you have???? :)

Also, are there any ways to make the color black cooler? I wear a lot of black and it's ~sooooooo~ hot! >.<

I'm glad you like the stuff I posted, even if they aren't your style.

My style is very eclectic. It basically changes everyday and the way I'm dressed is usually based on my mood. I'll be preppy one day, punk the next, then girly, occasionally gothic, etc.

I wear jeans most of the time and actually don't wear skirts or dresses all that often. I really like dresses/skirts though, I just don't find them all that comfortable.

I own pretty much every color you could imagine existed (and possibly even some that you didn't know existed). It's like a rainbow in my closet and my make-up bag.

I also love to wear a lot of jewelry and you will never see me without a fabulous pair of earrings. I also love to wear make-up and like playing with different colors of eyeshadow and nail polish. I love lip gloss as well.

There are days when I wear a lot of black too and I know what you mean about it being hot. It helps if you wear black in sleeveless or short-sleeved styles as apposed to long-sleeves or hoodies and sweaters. It also helps to wear black shorts and skirts instead of black pants or jeans. Maybe trying out different styles such as lighter weight fabrics or cutout designs would help too.

I hope my tips helped you. Maybe I should write a whole article about my own sense of style. :)

Cool! :D I used to have ear piercings but it's closing up, so I can't put any earrings. Clip ons were made for me, I guess. ^^

I know what you mean about your style changing. Mine doesn't really change on my mood, it mostly changes on what I have. :D

I'm sorry to hear your piercings are closing up. How do your ears feel when you wear clip-ons? I used to wear them before I got my ears pierced (this was about a decade ago, I feel so old!) and found them very uncomfortable. Sometimes even painful. I was never able to keep them on for more than an hour.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my hair style changes everyday too (I have very long hair). I also own a lot of headbands and hair clips.

They are a bit uncomfortable, but one of my friends once gave me semi-ring thing and I could just hang it on my ear and it would look like a clip on. ^^

I wish long hair suited me. As you can tell from my pic, I'm probably gonna stay short-haired for a long time. :D

Dibsy: The semi-ring sounds cool. At least it isn't painful. I think your hair looks good in your pictures. :)

Cursed: It's ok. I understand. I'm sorry your exams sucked. Glad to hear they're over with though. I'm fine and I hope you are too. :)
