Biker Babe

With the cold weather we're having right now and winter coming up on December 21st, you can't be outside without some kind of jacket. Of course, you want the clothes you wear outdoors to be just as stylish as the clothes you wear indoors; so how about putting on a cool motorcycle jacket to help you get through the season? This style of jacket was very popular during the 1950's and 1960's. It was most notably worn by the character Fonzie on Happy Days and by various characters in the Grease movie; It also made a comeback during the 1990's. Now it has made another comeback in 2008. While these types of jackets may not be practical when the snow starts coming down, they should be fine for now. You can also wear them again when the weather starts to warm up around March. However, you probably can get away with a motorcycle jacket in January/February if you live in an area with a warm climate that doesn't get too much (if any) snow. I just know that this style of jacket wouldn't really work for me in the winter with the frigid weather we tend to get here in New York. Lovely In Lace

This season, there is a big trend in fashions from the Victorian era. This means that styles that were worn from 1837-1901 are back in style for 2008. Items that fit in with Victorian fashions include pearls, ruffles, feathers, bows, fur (though I suggest wearing fake fur instead of the real thing!), silk, and the main focus of this article, lace! I love lace! It's very feminine yet still has an edgy feel to it. Another great thing about lace is that the color of lace you wear can totally set the mood for the rest of your outfit. You can wear black lace for a dark and gothic feel, pink lace to be girly and romantic, white to give off a classy vibe, red to be sexy, and the list goes on! Who knew one change in color could be enough to tell an entirely different story about you? Well whatever story you want to tell about yourself, I am going to feature some lacey items to help you out with it. Hopefully, this will give you some ideas on what kind of look you want to try out with lace.

I hope my little lacey finds help give you some ideas for new looks to try out. If you find some of the more see-through lacy items to be too revealing for you to wear on their own, you don't have to shy away. You can easily wear a camisole or tank top underneath your lace. You can even layer your lace over a long-sleeved shirt or a sweater top on the colder days to come. Remember, layering is also a big trend right now (article on layers coming soon!). Punk Princess

At the request of Dibsy, I am going to write an article about punk/princess styles of fashion. This trend is definitely very big right now. You can find this look all over various clothing stores, in fashion magazines everywhere, and on many different celebrities. One of the best examples of a celebrity who is always rocking this look is, of course, Avril Lavigne. She has even launched her own clothing line called Abbey Dawn, currently available at Kohls. This brand has many different styles of "punk princess" fashions so I definitely recommend heading down to the nearest Kohls to check it out. I also would suggest the brand Pink Cookie, which is currently available at Sears. You might want to take a look in your nearest Hot Topic as well. Styles that go along with this type of fashion include feminine-looking skulls, animal prints, plaid, tattoo designs, and pairing pink and black or red and black together. Basically you want to go for items that look tough, yet still girly and sweet. I will now feature some of these styles below.
