On The Fringe

Three looks that are popular right now are the flapper girl look from the victorian era, the modern-day hippie look, and the western cowgirl look. What's the one fashion trend that fits in with all of these looks? Fringe! Fringe is everywhere right now. While fringe seems to be most popular on shoes and handbags, I love it on dresses, belts, vests, tops, etc. as well. To get the flapper girl look, wear a fringe dress, a pearl necklace, a sequined purse, a feather headband, and some high heeled pumps. For the modern hippie look, get an oversized fringe handbag, a maxi dress or a tie-dyed shirt with ripped/bleached jeans, flip flops, and some bangles. If you want to try out a western-inspired look; grab some fringe boots, a plaid button-down shirt, a denim skirt (you can add a fringe belt if you want), and a cowboy or straw hat. Say goodbye to the days of hiding your zipper because the new trend is now to show your zipper off. Whether it's on your jeans, skirt, dress, bag, shoes, etc.; exposed zippers are everywhere. These zipper accents are the perfect way to add an edgy feel to an otherwise plain article of clothing. This is another trend that I really love. I own a pair of shorts with exposed zippers on the sides that I enjoy wearing during the summer (unfortunately, it's still too cold in NY to wear them right now).
