All Bleached Out

I previously wrote an article about ripped denim. This post is going to be about another one of this Spring's denim trends. Bleached denim! So if you have a pair of jeans that are bleached out from being washed too many times, don't throw them away yet because they are totally in style this season. If you want to bleach your own denim, grab a pair of jeans that you wish to do this with, and some thick bleach. Then soak your jeans in water and spread the bleach in the areas you want to appear faded. Throw them into the washing machine after doing this. If you have sensitive skin like I do, make sure to wear gloves during this entire process. You may also try this DIY project on jean shorts or a denim skirt. If you don't feel like bleaching your own denim, there are plenty of pre-bleached jeans you can wear. I will post some pre-bleached denim below.

Light As A Feather

My last blog post was about flower accessories. This article is going to be about accessories as well; only this time, it's about feather accessories. The feather accessories I will be featuring include headbands with feathers attached, feather hair clips, and feather jewelry. In addition to accessories, I will also display clothing with feather prints. Feathers happen to fit in with many of this seasons popular looks. For the flapper girl look, wear your feather headband with a fringe dress, a pearl necklace, a sequin handbag, and a pair of pumps. For a DIY project, grab a plain headband and a feather and glue the feather onto the headband. You can also get a few small feathers and glue them all around the headband. You may also add some rhinestones, studs, jewels, a bow, or a flower onto the headband with the feather(s) if you desire.

For a hippie-chic look, wear your feather hair clip with a pair of destroyed jeans, a peasant top or tie dyed shirt, and some flip flops. If you're going for a victorian style, wear your feather clip with a ruffled silk top, a lace skirt, some pumps, and a fringe purse. To rock a feather printed dress, pair it with some gladiator sandals and bangle bracelets. If you're sporting a feather printed top, wear it with some distressed capris and sneakers. To wear a feather printed swimsuit on the beach, pair it with some ripped bermuda shorts, flip flops, sunglasses, and a tote bag. A tote with feather prints would be great to carry if you're heading out to the beach, pool, or, gym. The feather printed totes will also come in handy for those of you who are taking classes this Summer and need a bag to carry your books in. If you want to wear a feather printed scarf, pair it with a tank top, a denim mini skirt, and some ballet flats.

Floral Arrangements

Last Spring, I wrote an article about floral prints. While floral prints are once again very much in style this Spring, another flowery trend has risen. Headbands with big flowers attached to them are what's hot right now. Hair clips with flowers attached to them are also popular, and even flower jewelry is in style this season. This is a trend that may have possibly been inspired by the Gossip Girl tv series. Since it's still Spring, flower accessories are the perfect items for right now. To get a look inspired by Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) on Gossip Girl, wear one of these adorable headbands with a white button-down blouse, a black pencil skirt, a pair of tights, some pumps, and a bright colored handbag. If you want to wear a flower headband to a wedding, prom, or dance, style your hair into a tight bun or ponytail and simply slide the headband on afterwards. You can also try wearing your hair down in soft waves or loose curls and then adding the headband. For a simple Spring look, pair this type of headband with a maxi dress and some gladiator sandals; to dress up a more casual look, wear your flower headband with a graphic t-shirt, some ripped jeans, and a pair of sneakers. If you're looking for a DIY project, grab a plain headband and a fake flower and glue the flower onto the headband with some fabric glue.

For a fun beach look, wear one of these flower clips in your hair with your favorite swimsuit and a romper; For a wedding, prom, or dance, wear your hair down in curls or waves and clip the flower into your hair. You can also style your hair into a bun and then clip the flower onto the side. You can even clip one of these flowers onto your dress. You can also add these flower clips to your everyday clothes or bags to give your style a little more oomph. To dress up a casual look, wear your flower hair clip in your hair with a tank top, a pair of distressed denim shorts, and some flip-flops. For the flowers that come in sets of two, clip one flower onto each side of your hair; for the flowers that come in sets of four, wear you hair in a messy bun and then add the clips in all around. For a DIY project, get a fake flower and a plain clip and glue the flower onto the clip.

Flower rings are perfect to wear to events such as the prom or a school dance. Flower necklaces look great when paired with tube tops or strapless dresses; a flower bracelet would look good when worn with a sleeveless shirt. If you wear flower earrings, make sure to wear your hair up or swept back so that people will be able to see them.

Simply Sublime

One fashion trend that I've noticed recently and am extremely fascinated by is sublimation print. This is a dying process in which the dye is applied on to the garment with heat to create a beautiful, graphic image in a variety of colors. Sublimation prints resemble paintings and often include crinkles or creases to create the illusion of brushstrokes.
